The commissioner stated, "The new initiative will help boost the sales of EVs thereby decreasing pollution. Also, the permit fee has been waived off on the purchase of EVs." Stepping forward with the sustainable development goals, the state government has offered some benefits like subsidies on the upfront cost of electric vehicles for the first line of buyers.

Additionally, the state goods and service tax paid by such individuals will also be reimbursed, in accordance with the battery capacity. Notably, these provisions were declared as a part of the state financial budget, in order to promote the sale of electric vehicles (two-wheelers and three-wheelers).
