The tale of Gulab Ji Chaiwaale
While India was celebrating its independence, Gulab Ji was celebrating his one year of making chai and serving people. In 1946, Gulab Singh Ji Dhirawat opened up this chai shop after a lot of discouragement from his family but now, we can absolutely hear Drake singing, “started from the bottom, now we’re here”!

What started with Gulab Ji and his small tea stall, went on to become an integral part of Jaipur’s history. Now with a cafe at the Banipark area, near Collectorate Circle on Madho Singh Road and two outlets at Ganpati Plaza and Masala Chowk, Gulab Ji’s legacy lives on even after the 95-year-old’s sad demise in May 2020.
The new cafe offers a seating area with an open roof for you to enjoy chai the way it’s meant to be enjoyed but with a touch of luxury! Further, the cafe also serves an extensive range of different types of teas, appetizers, and shakes along with yummy snacks to nibble on.
