Jaipur adopts new strategy to spread COVID awareness ahead of blanket lockdown from May 10

Civic and local governing bodies in Jaipur have been tasked to increase public awareness regarding COVID appropriate behaviours.

A day ahead of the blanket COVID-19 lockdown in Rajasthan, civic and local governing bodies in Jaipur have undertaken the task of spreading awareness regarding pandemic appropriate behaviours among people. The local system has come up with a new strategy to ensure absolute compliance with pandemic protocols in a bid to break the chain of infection. The related officials will employ moving public address systems under this strategy, to curb the rising swell of the second COVID wave, read reports.

Mass awareness campaign in Jaipur

The Jaipur Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and the Municipality have been tasked to widely publicise the COVID-19 prohibitory protocols in the Pink City to flatten the rise of the infection graph here. As per reports, a mass awareness campaign will be run by these authorities via vehicle PA systems, to reiterate the norms of lockdown protocols. A mic and sound system will be fitted in auto-rickshaws that will patrol around the city and disseminate the guidelines. Cycle rickshaws and e-rickshaws will also be used,

The campaign will be driven by 50 vehicles of the Municipal Corporation, 25 of the Municipal Council and another 40 of the Municipality. Reportedly, the number of vehicles will be increased according to the need. Besides this, other means of communication, such as banners and posters will also be used to emphasise the protocols.

Pamphlets and masks will be handed out to people and jingles will be used to increase recall and compliance of the basic COVID appropriate behaviours like wearing a mask, washing hands and maintaining a safe distance in public places among others.
