Jaipur and other adjoining areas to witness temperature dip and fog after December 26

Jaipur's current AQI remains unhealthy for sensitive groups.

With the onset of the winter season, reports of fog and cold waves have emerged in various regions of North India. At the same time, Jaipur experienced mild fluctuations in temperature. However, as per IMD, this is soon expected to change for Jaipur and adjoining areas.

The present temperature in Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and other adjoining areas was recorded between 24˚C to as low as 9˚C, which is expected to drop after December 26, as per predictions.

Cold winds from Northern parts to exacerbate Jaipur AQI

As per NAQI, the city's current AQI stands at 132, displaying under the 'Unhealthy for sensitive group' category. PM2.5 concentration in Jaipur is currently 9.6 times the WHO annual air quality guideline value. Senior citizens, children, and people with lung disabilities are advised to stay at home, avoid outdoor exercise and wear masks.

The same is expected to remain unchanged till December 26. Thereafter, cold winds from the North will start to subside towards Jaipur and other areas, leading to a drop in maximum and minimum and developing cold wave-like conditions.

As per the IMD forecast, the temperature drop is expected to be around 2 to 3˚C. Meanwhile, adjoining states including, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab have started witnessing a drop in minimum and maximum temperature and foggy conditions.
