India recently granted 'emergency use' authorisation to two vaccines- Oxford's Covishield, manufactured by Serum Institute of India (SII) and Covaxin, formulated by Bharat Biotech. As per reports, the SII's Covishield vaccine will be transported from Pune on January 11 or 12.
Earlier in January, the health department officials of Rajasthan had conducted a trial of the COVID-19 vaccination process at 19 centres in 7 districts of the state, as per the Centre's immunization protocol. Again late last week, the second mock drill of the vaccination was successfully conducted at 102 vaccination centres in all the districts of the state and it included 2,550 health workers. The final vaccination sites will have separate entry and exit points and while here, the recipients need to maintain physical distancing.
