The on-ground hybrid version of the 15th edition of JLF is scheduled to take place between January 28 to February 1, next year

Adding to the excitement of the book lovers, the organising body of the upcoming Jaipur Literature Festival has released the second list of speakers. The on-ground hybrid version of the 15th edition of this glorious feast of literature, discourse and camaraderie is scheduled to take place between January 28 to February 1, 2022. The stellar lineup includes a list of twenty-five poets, authors and intellectuals from India and abroad.

While the first list of speakers including 15 noteworthy names was released on November 15, the list second list entailing 25 renowned names was released yesterday. Talking about the same, writer, publisher, and Co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival- Namita Gokhale, said, "Our second list of speakers unfurls to provide a further glimpse into the rich diversity of voices to be platformed at Jaipur Literature Festival 2022. We are proud to present writers and thinkers, dreamers and doers, from across languages, cultures and continents."

The list includes Akhil Katyal, an Indian poet, LGBTQ rights activist and author; Andrew Lownie, a British biographer, literary agent and author; Anindita Ghose, Mumbai-based writer and journalist; David Wengrow, British archaeologist and author; Elif Shafak, award-winning British-Turkish novelist; Jairam Ramesh, Rajya Sabha MP and author; K. Satchidanandan, poet, writer, critic, playwright and editor; Jamaican poet, writer and essayist Kei Miller

The stellar line-up also includes famous Bangladeshi journalist Mahfuz Anam; critically acclaimed historian and writer Manu S. Pillai; American academic and author Maya Jasanoff; British writer Monica Ali; actor, child-rights activist and writer Nandana Dev Sen; Co-Chairman of Forbes Marshall, engineer, businessman and author Naushad D. Forbes; feminist, publisher and writer Robert Macfarlane.

Additionally, to add diversity, Hollywood actor, director and writer Rupert Everett; award-winning British poet, author Ruth Padel; Indian novelist, critic and academic Saikat Majumdar; Sri Lankan writer Shehan Karunatilaka; award-winning Indian film actress, TV personality and author Sonali Bendre; Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar recipient author Tanuj Solanki; author and Padma Bhushan awardee Vidya Dehejia; senior Indian journalist and filmmaker Vinod Kapri are also included in the list of speakers this year.

William Dalrymple, writer, historian and Co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival, said, "We are coming back with a truly spectacular line up of literary superstars from across the world. In fiction we have this year's Booker winner, the great Damon Galgut, his predecessors Monica Ali and DBC Pierre, Pulitzer winner Jonathan Franzen and Turkish superstar Elif Shafak. We have Rob Macfarlane on nature writing, Rupert Everett on Hollywood, Vidya Dehejia on Chola bronzes. We also have a special focus on archaeology and ancient history: Cat Jarman on the Vikings, David Wengrove on the Dawn of Everything and many more."

Ever since its inception in the year 2007, this festival has hosted around 5000 speakers and performers and welcomed millions of bibliophiles from all across the globe. After a successful virtual edition last year, the Jaipur Literature Festival is all set to come back in a super-hybrid avatar with both- an on-ground magnificence in Jaipur's Hotel Clarks Amber and its nifty virtual presence.
