With 75 new cases on Tuesday, Jaipur records the highest share of daily COVID rise in Rajasthan

Jaipur's active case tallies stands at 273

Jaipur on Tuesday logged in 75 new COVID cases, the highest share of 97 infections in Rajasthan. With these numbers, the state's active load surged to a tally of 438, while that of Jaipur hovered at 273. Besides the Pink City, fresh cases were reported in Jodhpur, Udaipur, Alwar, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, and Kota.

Amid the rising fear of a COVID resurgence in Jaipur, district concerns grew on Tuesday when the health department was not able to trace 5 positive patients on Tuesday. They could not be contacted as the addresses that they had registered were fake, announced officials. The public is advised to cooperate with the administration and abide by the protocols, with sincerity, to curb the chances of the third wave.

Principal Secretary, Medical, Akhil Arora issued special state guidelines, in view of the sudden case swell. All District Collectors in Rajasthan have been directed to undertake required action to promote vaccination and compliance to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour. Besides, continuous efforts to strengthen the medical infrastructure in all districts must be taken up with immediate effect.

This includes the availability of oxygen generation plants, new oxygen beds among other resources, to prepare for the anticipated thrid-wave rise. Authorities have been tasked to conduct drills in this regard and monitor the system for robust aid. Instructions have also been issued to review the ongoing work at hospitals for the same, and to ensure that the agency concerned is directed to complete them at the earliest

Increased sampling, testing & treatment for COVID control

The state will be raising significant efforts to activate thorough contact tracing and isolation of COVID patients, added reports. Increased and timely sampling will also be conducted for effective results. Rajasthan health department should aim to conduct at 500 samples per million of the population, keeping in view the local requirement and the number of cases. Sampling should be increased, the order said.

There is a need to conduct COVID-19 checks, for positivity ratio review, at the district and block levels. This will help the administration identity the density of cases in a particular region and increase sampling there, accordingly. Isolation, treatment and vaccination could also be implemented in a strategic manner with the same.
