Largest in Rajasthan, Jaipur's 8,000-bed COVID facility to begin operations by April 26

New COVID centre in Jaipur will be able to accomodate about 5,000 to 8,000 COVID patients at one time.

As directed by the Rajasthan Government, the Bilwa Centre of the Radhaswami Satsang Bhawan, is upgrading itself to stand as the largest COVID centre in the state. Amid the alarming swell in the number of coronavirus cases across the state, this Jaipur facility will be able to accommodate about five to eight thousand patients at one time.

Officials have also informed that this infrastructure can be further ramped up to treat around ten thousand patients, if need be. While 500 bed have been stationed here already, the centre will be fully operational by April 26.

Centre for home isolated patients in Jaipur

The Jaipur Development Corporation is engaged in preparing the largest temporary COVID care centre across the state, with a nursing capacity of 8000 COVID patients. These numbers can also be increased according to the need, officials informed. As per reports, this centre will expand over 10 lakh sq. ft and will hold all those patients who are currently isolating under home quarantine.

Besides that, several other facilities will be available at the Radhaswami Satsang Bhawan for the benefit of the isolated patients. About 1000 urinals and 500 bathrooms are being built here to uphold the prescribed norms of sanitation. Electrical systems such as fans and CCTV cameras will also be installed here. The roles and responsibilities of cleaning, sanitation and hospitality, have been assigned to different committees and officials to oversee the services, without hiccups.

Divided roles & responsibilities:

While the JDA will look after the bed, cladding, mattress, soaps and sanitisers, the medical and health department will appoint the medical teams, nursing staff and other healthcare officials to look after the patients, Similar, the safety system will remain under the authority of the Commissioner of Police, Jaipur. All sanitation and garbage disposal, arrangement of mobile toilets and other such activities will be conducted by the officials of the Greater Municipal Corporation and the Satsang Committee will arrange for drinking water, tea snacks and decoctions.

As per reports, there is an established procedure of admission at this centre. This will ensure proper management of the COVID patients and prevent any unprecedented infection due to ill management of the people. The coronavirus suspected persons will be asked to enter the facility from Gate No. 4, where help desks have been set up. After providing their details here, they will be sent to the OPD for assessment. If positive, they will be admitted at the centre.
