Jaipur’s first electric train successfully completed its journey to Prayagraj, after being flagged off from the Jaipur Junction railway station on Monday. Officially, this e-train has also marked the initiation of operations on the Jaipur electric track. Flagged off by the Divisional Railway Manager, the train started its return journey to Prayagraj(Allahabad) at 3:20 PM from Jaipur, decked up in flower garlands. From the city, about 908 passengers boarded the train and availed its rapid services.
Jaipur’s warm welcome to the electric train
The electric train completed its first successful run from Prayagraj to Jaipur and vice versa, over the electric route between the two points. Reaching Jaipur about 15 minutes ahead of its charted schedule at 12:30 PM, the crew members of the train, including loco and assistant loco pilots were warmly received by the Jaipur railway authorities with garlands. While the train carried 505 passengers on its journey to Jaipur, the return passenger load surged to a total of 908 travellers.
The return journey from Jaipur to Prayagraj, over the electric track, will map through the districts of Dusa, Bandikui, Mathura and Agra. As this train is also the first operation which has commenced from Jaipur Junction railway station, Station Director, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer, Senior Divisional Operations Manager, among several railway officials were present at this launch.
Jaipur’s first electric train runs ahead of schedule
As per reports, the train reached Alwar station 26 minutes earlier than the scheduled arrival time, which minimised the complete journey to Prayagraj by 25 to 30 minutes. The successful run of this train has paved way for more such electric transits; adding, that soon, electric trains will be shuttling between Jaipur and Delhi over the Ajmer route.
