JCTLS plans to add 1000 new buses in Jaipur to enhance transportation network

JCTSL plans to introduce the buses over the span to three year in a phased manner

The Pink City of India is in for a major makeover of it’s whole bus transportation structure. The Nodal agency - Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) has recently approved the proposal of introducing 1000 new buses in Jaipur and has also decided to increase the number of depots.

A fleet of 1000 new buses 

According to a recent survey done by the nodal agency, Jaipur is lagging behind by 1,200 buses. A total of 1324 buses are currently operating within the city - 300 by government, and 1024 by private enterprises. Of these, 100 buses are on their way to turn obsolete next year leaving behind only 200. 

Following up on this, JCTSL plans to add 1000 buses over a span of three years in a phased manner. (300 in 2023, 300 in 2024 and 400 in 2025). New age fleet technology and operating models will be adopted keeping in consideration the pattern and source of funding provided by the government.

New depots and new corporate office to come along 

Apart from increasing the number of buses, JCTSL is also planning to increase the number of deports in the city from three. The whole restructuring process will require additional work force of 55 new positions, including two depot managers, 10 assistant managers, 4 traffic inspectors and 18 assistant traffic inspectors.

JCTSL’s board is also constructing it‘s a new corporate office building in Sector 4 in Mansarovar, Jaipur. Presently, the agency operates from a building next to the headquarters of Jaipur Police headquarters.
