These regions provide connectivity to other parts of the state, therefore, travellers influx and consequent virus transmission are more prevalent here.

In an order issued from the office of the Home Department, the Principal Secretary mentioned that border areas of Rajasthan are witnessing a COVID spike since the last few days. As a result, the state government has made an RT-PCR negative test report mandatory for all passengers arriving from neighbouring states to Rajasthan. According to the protocol, the test should be taken no earlier than 72 hours before entering the state.

Earlier on February 25, the Rajasthan government had made it compulsory for all travellers arriving from Maharashtra and Kerala to furnish a negative COVID report on arrival. Besides nursing a dynamic case rise at present, these states have been pinned as the biggest contributors of the total tally ailing the country, since the pandemic outbreak last year.

Currently, Rajasthan has an active caseload of 1,755 cases, with the highest share of 384 patients coming from the state capital, Jaipur. So far, a total of 3,21,532 cases have plagues Rajasthan, out of which 3,16,988 have been successfully treated. As per recorded data, the death toll stands at 2,789 cases.
