New guidelines issued in Rajasthan to curtail surge in active COVID cases

Students are now allowed to choose from offline & online class options

In a bid to curb the rising tally of COVID-19 cases in Rajasthan, the government issued fresh protocols on Friday. As per the new guidelines, all educational institutes are required to give options of both online as well as offline classes, allowing students to choose from any of the modes as per their convenience. Even those students who agree to attend offline classes will require written permission from their parents or guardians for the same.

Previously, schools and colleges were operating only offline classes after the state had announced an unlock of educational institutes, allowing them to function at a 100% capacity. However, now after witnessing a spike in the fresh cases amongst students, the option of online classes has been made available. Additionally, morning or evening prayer meetings in schools are prohibited and canteens will remain closed to prevent the spread of the virus. The norms also mandate all the teaching and non-teaching staff be fully inoculated before entering the premises.

Protocols to be followed by all institutes

All students who have travelled from other states recently will have to undergo an RT-PCR test and will be quarantined till the test reports are revealed. Educational institutes that have reported positive cases will remain shut for 10 days to avoid further infection. Additionally, the drivers of all public transportation coming to the institutes will need to be fully vaccinated before entering the premises. All the students and staff travelling in public transportation will be seated in a phased manner in the vehicles. This step will ensure safety not just in the classrooms but even while commuting to and fro.
