Under the digital transformation initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Transport Office in Jaipur has launched a new scheme in collaboration with the Rajasthan Police. As a part of this program, the authorities have eased the passport procurement procedure with the deployment of an online police verification system. With this project, citizens in Jaipur will be free from the hassle of multiple visits to the police station for getting their passports verified.
Virtual platform to help in passport verification
Reportedly, an official from the passport office Neetu Bhagotia informed that the citizens can now use the mPassport Police App for verification of their passports. While the passport aspirants will surely be benefitted from this intervention, the hastening of the process will also accrue advantages for the authorities. As per reports, Tata Consultancy Services was roped in for training officials under this program and 50 officers of the Jaipur Police Commissionerate have been coached therein.
Paperless process to ensure verification within 3-4 days
Reportedly, it has been stated that the passport verification is being turned into a paperless process and it is expected that the entire procedure will be completed in a period of 3-4 days now. As per reports, the passport official also informed that the current implementation is a part of the pilot project launched in Jaipur. Depending on its success, the scope of the scheme will be augmented in the future, to cover all regions of the state.
