Over 100 camps organised in Jaipur to verify house helps, tenants & more

Over 100 camps were organised in the past 15 days.

The Jaipur police have moved into action after the unfortunate incident of robbery reported in the city on May 3. The police have organised various camps to brief the city residents about the perils of people for domestic assistance without their background verification checks. A total of 2,000 applications seeking verification of tenants, drivers and domestic helps was sought, in 100 camps organised in the past 15 days.

Watchmen, maids, tenants & sales staff under watch

Jaipur city woke up to the news of a robbery in the Karni Vihar area on May 3, wherein 5 unverified domestic helps held a family hostage and fled with 4 lakhs. Reportedly, these special camps have been organised by police stations to create awareness among residents about the importance of staff verification.

After receiving an overwhelming response from the residents, DCP Richa Tomar said “These camps are part of our initiative 'My beat, My responsibility' (meri beat, meri zimmedari), wherein cops visit families in their designated areas for regular interaction with them."

The informative parks were organised at community places like parks and complexes on both Saturdays and Sundays. According to the reports, apart from domestic helps, requested background verifications include 1,250 applications for tenants, 70 for salesmen, and around 60 verification forms for people working as watchmen at different places.
