An increased emphasis on the promotion of sports was laid in the rural strata of Jaipur where 17 mini stadia, 20 gymnasiums and three multi-purpose halls have been prepared for the development and training of local sporting talent of the rural Jaipur at a cost of Rs 26 crore.
What’s the update?
Established under the guidance of The Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Joint Inspection Team, this programme aligns with the Prime Minister’s Nationwide campaign called the ‘Fit India Movement.’ The initiative has enabled two mini stadia in Baansoor, three each in Kotputli and Viratnagar, two each in Shahpura, Amer, Jamvaramgarh and Jhotwara and one in Phulera. Further, Gymnasiums have been made in 20 places by identifying locations from where sports talents are likely to emerge.
The Rural Jaipur MP also said that all the 17 mini stadia have been built keeping in mind the local expectations for better health of youth, encouraging them for sports and to fulfil the Prime Minister’s dream by promoting sports at the local level. These include various facilities like racing track, football ground, cricket pitch, volleyball court, kho-kho court, kabaddi court, zig-zag trek as well as high mast light for night-time play.
The stadium stands have been built for the seating of players and spectators. Besides, facilities like changing room, toilet, stage etc. have also been provided for the players. Similarly, facilities for various indoor games, including wrestling and table tennis, have been made available in the multi-purpose halls. Along with these special training and development facilities, 46 open gyms for the common people have also been constructed in the various of the rural city constituency.

This initiative and elaborate set-up has provided means to various individuals who are not able to achieve their dreams because of lack of facilities in rural areas. Besides, this is a great way to encourage newer talent and motivate a greater population of people to adopt a healthier and active lifestyle.
