In Jaipur, the Sahakar Deepotsav fair is on in full gear to cater to your every deepawali wish. During Diwali, firecrackers are an integral tradition but we, as guided citizens, have a responsibility towards the environment as well. Considering this, the Sahakar Deepotsav Fair in Jaipur is encouraging the sale of green crackers- Sivakasi, rather than traditional crackers.
The fair is currently on in full swing at Navjeevan Sahakari Bazar, located on Bhawani Singh Road, Jaipur, from 11AM to 9PM everyday till October 24.
What to expect at Sahakar Deepotsav fair?
Encouraging people to opt for environment friendly fireworks, special 50% – 60% discounts are available on Sivakasi crackers. Apart from this, MMTC silver coins and utensils, decorative flowers, designer candles, bedsheets and worship essentials are displayed for sale at reasonable prices, all at one spot.
Jaipurians can also find gift packs of dry fruits, snacks, apparel and house hold items to carry along to their next card party.
Are green crackers actually an ecological substitute?
Sivakasi has over 1000 manufacturers involved in making the NEERI-approved concoctions. The green crackers are believed to have a lesser impact on the environment, are made without the chemicals used for conventional crackers, such as aluminium, barium, potassium, nitrate or carbon, which significantly reduce emissions.
In many states, Diwali and the following days see a dip in the air quality index, and smog is witnessed in most cities. The Supreme Court, considering people’s health, ordered the production of green crackers in 2018. Technically speaking, green crackers are environmentally benign by design and release comparatively less carbon footprint.
