Sariska Tiger Reserve
Situated in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, Sariska National Park stretches over an area of almost 865 square kilometres and was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955. The landscape of Sariska is dominated by sharp cliffs and narrow valleys covered by dry and deciduous forests, which can be enjoyed by undertaking a wildlife safari.

If you are the kind of person who feels goosebumps when encountering places of historical importance, then the Kankwari Fort is a must-visit for you! Known for its brilliant Rajasthani architecture, this fort was built by Jai Singh I but later used by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb to exile his brother Dara Shikoh. Further, the panoramic glimpse of the forest underneath from here is another captivating element of the fort.

Pandupol Hanuman Temple
The Pandupol Hanuman Temple standing amidst a scenic waterfall, is believed to have links with the Mahabharata, therefore, this temple is a pilgrimage spot for tourists looking for religious respite. You will also spot various species of monkeys here, which are considered to be the reincarnations of Lord Hanuman and are served prasad by devotees.

The 7 km long human-made wonder, Siliserh Lake was established in 1845 and it is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Sariska to enjoy and relax amid the stunning surroundings. It is a prime water supply source to neighbouring localities other than being a marvel of engineering. Further, the backdrop of majestic Aravallis and its green pastures amuse the visitors with a magical allure.

Built in 1631 by Madho Singh, Bhangarh Fort is a miracle of Mughal architecture. This fort is a heritage wealth in Rajasthan but is believed to be cursed by a black magician, hence, it is also notoriously known as one of the most haunted places in India! One can visit the ruins of the fort but only after sunrise and before sunset, as entry is prohibited during the night for supernatural reasons (of course!).

Neelkantha Mahadeva Temple
A famous tourist attraction located within the Sariska Tiger Reserve is the Neelkanth Temple, built way back in the 6th century. Tourists throng to this place for two reasons - to receive the blessings of Lord Shiva and to witness the sculptures on the temple walls, that bear a resemblance to those located at Khajuraho. Though most of the temple complex has turned into ruins now, Hindu devotees still visit this temple to offer prayers to the Shivlinga present inside the temple.

How to reach?
The approximately 110 km long journey between Sariska and Jaipur can be covered either by road or by rail. If you wish to travel by train, then you will have to deboard at Alwar Railway Station and cover another 40 km (approx.) to reach Sariska Tiger Reserve. However, we suggest you undertake a road trip to explore the scenic route that lies along the way!
