Holding the threatening surge of COVID infections in view, the Rajasthan government on Friday, purveyed stricter guidelines for the underway lockdown period. As per the new orders, which will come into effect from 5 AM on April 25, shops selling essential commodities shall remain open only for four hours, from 6 AM to 11 PM, till May 3.
Stricter curbs to lighten COVID-19 caseload
Adding to the instructions, it has been mentioned that milk shops will be permitted to remain open in the morning, from 6 AM to 11 AM and from 5 PM to 7 PM, in the evening. Restaurants, shops selling processed food and sweet shops shall, however, remain closed and only home delivery will be allowed. All offices are to remain shuttered, except those engaged in providing essential and selected services.
It has also been broached that marriage ceremonies shall be limited to one day and only one programme will be conceded on the occasion, with not more than 50 people in attendance. These programmes will also be monitored by government employees, to ensure that the guests don’t flout the norms.
Speaking of commute, the authorities have restricted the transportation of people in private automobiles from one city to another. Subsequently, it is also to be noted that petrol will be available from 7 AM to 12 noon every day. However, intra-state buses will operate with 50% capacity and all travellers entering Rajasthan, will have to show a negative COVID RT-PCR test issued 72 hours before travel.

Furthermore, in the coming week, strict weekend curfew guidelines will be followed from Friday evening to Monday morning, in an effort to erase the pandemic’s course and impact. As yet, the state has reported 4,83,273 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 3,62,526 recoveries and 3,453 fatalities. On the other hand, the state capital has recorded 88,079 coronavirus victims as of today and 65,070 people have successfully battled the infection. Nevertheless, 605 covid patients have succumbed to the virus in the city, till date.
