Jaipur has been dynamically involved in a list of essential and innovative projects assuring welfare for its citizens. Now, the authorities are trying to mend and expand the water supply amenities, facilitating the city residents with an easy walk to summers. According to reports, Public Health & Engineering Department (PHED) in Jaipur has spotted 14 regions that have no or hampered connectivity to the Bilaspur pipeline. Now, it plans to implement measures that guarantee trouble-free water supply to households in these areas.
The project is expected to be completed before the arrival of summers
PHED’s proposed initiative would swap old and damaged pipes having low pressure of water supply with new ones. Reportedly, the Additional Chief Engineer of PHED stated that the funds have been allocated for the new project already and the work is slated to start soon. The organisation attempts to materialise the plan as soon as possible so that sufficient water supply is assured in all areas during the summers.
3 coupon system & GPS tracking to revamp tank-water distribution
In addition to this, engineers from PHED have been visiting different areas of the district including 2,500 tubewells to check water quality and chlorine levels. Reportedly, the Additional Chief Secretary has instructed the officials to revamp the distribution of water through tankers by using a three coupon system and a GPS tracking system. When the ‘Summer Contingency Plan’ was being deliberated upon with the officials, the pros and cons of using an OTP system were also evaluated.
The ADC has directed the authorities to make sure that the proposed installation of hand pumps and tube wells is completed by March 15. Also, Asha Sahyogini, ANM & retired government officers would be requested to keep a check on the new and old pipes. It is only when the public authorities proactively implement such initiatives that an optimum level of welfare is assured for all sections of the society.
