Alerted by the climbing figures of COVID-19 infections and casualties, the Rajasthan government has declared that a weekend curfew shall be imposed in all districts of the state from Friday 6 PM to Monday 5 AM. As per the orders given by the administration, bans and restraints similar to the lockdown shall be witnessed during the weekend curfew. While all other facilities will be suspended, emergency and necessary services will be allowed to operate during the stipulated period.
CM urges citizens to cooperate with the state orders & instructions
After the Chief Minister conducted a meeting with the state’s top officials, he announced the decision through his Twitter account on Thursday. The CM urged the citizens across the state to be aware and responsible besides assuring complete adherence to all the guidelines and orders issued by the state government. He also implied that if the citizens cooperate and act congruously with the imposed restrictions, an accentuated spread of contamination will be prevented.
The CM was quoted saying, “If we fail to take strict actions on time, we too can get into situations similar to other states. We request all to extend support to the government which is all ready to fight the present challenges.” Alarmingly, an unrestrained COVID spread has seeped in all districts of the state from the 17 cities, where it was converged a few days back.
It is to be noted that citizens will be allowed to exercise voting rights, during the curfew timings, in the three constituencies of the state that are bound for bypolls on April 17.
Jaipur’s COVID tally crosses 1k-mark on Wednesday!
Witnessing 1,325 new COVID cases on Wednesday, Jaipur’s daily count crossed the 1k for the first time in 2021. On Thursday, the city recorded 848 new infections, taking the tally of active cases to 9,204. With a cumulative count of 17,091 COVID-affected individuals, the state capital remains to be one of the most affected spots in Rajasthan. Observing these figures, it becomes essential for the citizens and administrations to ensure such measures which can curtail a further hike in cases.
