In a new initiative under the Kaya Kalp scheme, the Kanpur distinct administration has decided to prompt a model upgrade for schools in the rural part of the city. Reportedly, a total of 200 countryside schools have been shortlisted by the authorities at a recent meeting held at the Vikas Bhawan Auditorium and the work is set to begin soon now. This move is pegged to enhance the educational infrastructure of Kanpur and the overall classroom experience for students as per global standards.
Children-friendly atmosphere to be created with the new upgrade

The Kanpur District Magistrate has undertaken the task of revamping the face of rural schools, with modular fits and upgrade. Notably, schools from each development block have been chosen for the program to ensure wide reach and development. All construction work carried here will be connected with students and will be conducted to boost a child-friendly atmosphere on-premises.
To further the agenda, around 30 master trainers from the UNICEF have been deployed to complete the task. These global associates are engaged in the training pradhan and villagers, including secretaries and teachers of identified schools to facilitate the facelift project. All master trainers have been directed to ensure that any changes made in the schools are in accordance with the proposed institute model.
Upgraded schools to be smart-class compatible

Basic provisions such as separate lavatories for boys and girls and an interlocking path from the main gate to the school verandah will be furnished under the banner of this project. Beautifications plans like the painting on boundary walls will also be carried out in this scheme.
Once the listed schools are upgraded, they will be able to support the set-up of smart classes, which can also be used to conduct online sessions for the students. This will help improve the accessibility of formal school education in rural areas, even if the institutes are shut to cold weather or pandemic concerns.
