Declared as a city in 1803, Kanpur completed 218 years of its existence as a designated town in 2021. A tale of twenty-one names!

As difficult as it may be to decipher this count, what's actually interesting is that Kanpur travelled through a long list of 21 names before it got the final one. Founded by Raja Hindu Singh and named as 'Kanhapur', the attributes for the city changed through the Mughal and British rule. From Cawnpore in 1770 to Kanpur in 1948, the English twisted its name more than anyone else. Call it as you, you will definitely be enraptured by the essence of the city!

Endless industrial developments of erstwhile 'Manchester of the East'

Before the British rule took over, there was a time when 'Manchester of the East' was renowned all over the world for its remarkable industrial activity. India registers over 2.8 lakh fresh COVID cases on Wednesday

With a recovery rate of 93.88%, 1,88,157 patients marked their recovery on Wednesday, taking the total tally to 3,55,83,039 recoveries in India

Registering a spike of more than 18% on the daily COVID figures of the previous day, India reported 2,82,970 fresh cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. According to the press release issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, adding the cases detected on January 18, the active caseload of the country has now climbed to 18,31,000 cases.
