IIT Kanpur to conduct GATE 2023 exam in February
IIT Kanpur, on July 27, launched the official website for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023. This website will act as a single source of information related to the upcoming national-level exam that will be held in February 2023. Earlier, it was also announced that IIT Kanpur would organise the GATE 2023 exam.

A joint initiative from IITs
The examination will be jointly conducted by IITs Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore on behalf of the National Coordination Board-GATE (NCB) and the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
The exam will be a computer-based test (CBT) and will comprise twenty-nine subject areas from the various fields of study, offering an opportunity to students belonging to subject areas other than engineering.
It is designed in a way that tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate students from engineering, sciences, humanities and social sciences backgrounds.
Additionally, the exam is considered to be a prestigious one as it holds tremendous importance and also helps in getting admission to Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce and Arts in the institutes supported by the MoE and other govt agencies. Moreover, one can also attain financial assistance for admission depending upon their scores in the GATE.
Important dates for GATE 2022
Eligibility: Students studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program or those who have completed any government degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Sciences, Commerce and Arts.
Online Application: 30 August 2022 onwards
Last date for regular application: 30 september 2022
Admit card availability: 3 January 2023
Exam dates: 4, 5, 11 and 12 February 2023
