Kanpur & 30 other UP districts declared COVID free

Sunday's records show that the active tally of cases has dropped to 159 in Uttar Pradesh.

After one and a half years of struggling in a pandemic-stricken world, the state of Uttar Pradesh is finally receiving some positive news. Out of the 75 districts in the state, nearly 40% have been declared COVID-free. Statistically, 31 districts of UP, including Kanpur have registered zero active COVID-19 cases in the past few days. Moreover, Sunday's records show that the active tally of cases has dropped to 159 in the territory. However, over 21 state districts still have at least one active COVID patient.

Recovery rate surges to 98.8%

As per records, Amethi, Amroha, Baghpat, Ballia, Balrampur, Etah, Farrukhabad, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur, Kasganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Mainpuri, Mau, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shravasti, Varanasi and Sitapur have not recorded any positive cases recently.The state of Uttar Pradesh has recorded 13 fresh cases since yesterday. Seven out of these all already on their recovery paths. Notably, the recovery rate for COVID-19 patients has surged to around 98.8% while the active ratio has dropped to 2.16%.

An official statement read, "The fresh cases have declined by more than 38,000 from its peak which was 38,055 on April 24. The state has also been able to restrict the daily Covid caseload below 50 for over 50 days in a row." On the positive side, Uttar Pradesh has administered over 11 crore vaccinations, securing the top position in India's inoculation drive.
