Traffic will be regulated on the diverted route from 4 PM on Saturday to 6 AM on Monday.
The Kanpur Traffic Police Department has announced its road diversion plan to ensure glitch-free commute in the city during the course of metro development work. Reportedly, the Kanpur Metro Rail Corporation has decided to set up a cross-arm intersection at the Motijheel Station of the Priority Corridor. This ongoing construction work will stretch till 6 AM on September 27 and all vehicles passing through this site will be redirected.
New 'diversion route' in Kanpur
Traffic heading towards the Motijheel Station from Mall Road (Benajbhar Road) will be deflected towards the left turn before the Motijheel Avenue Road. This passage will lead up to the Mata Swaruprani Road, Khalasi Line Rotary in the city. From here on, vehicles will be diverted to the road cutting on the right-hand side towards Tree House Lane.
People can use this diversion to reach Arya Nagar Chauraha. Another right from the Arya Nagar Circle will direct the traffic towards the Dayal Road and through this, people can reach the Benajbhar Road Masjid.
Citizens' cooperation required for the ongoing work
City residents are requested to follow the course of this traffic plan and lend support to Kanpur Metro for harnessing development in the city. The traffic police will be deployed along the provisional route to prevent chaos and ensure public order.
Once the proposed routes of Kanpur Metro are established, the local transport system in the city will be revamped completely. Besides benefitting the citizens, this would also ensure better regulation of the road traffic.
