A pair of nine trains passing through the Kanpur Central Station, will now run at the speed of the Vande Bharat Express (Train-18) from the 25th of November. The speed of these trains will be increased to 130 kmph, which would further transport the passengers from Kanpur to Delhi, in just 4.5 hours, in contrast to the earlier duration of 6-7 hours. This set of trains will be equipped with LHB coaches with advanced technology.
Time & money-saver move by the North Central Railway
The semi-high speed trains include Prayagraj Express (02417/02418), Manduadih-New Delhi Sivaganga Express (02559/02560), Lucknow-New Delhi Gomti Express (02419/02420) and Gorakhpur-Bandra (09038/09037).
From November 25, Muzaffarpur-Bandra Terminus (09040/09039), Darbhanga-New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti Express (02565/02566), Gorakhpur-Hisar Gorakhdham Express (02555/02556), Saharsa-New Delhi Vaishali Express (02553/02554), Rewa-New and Delhi Express (02427/02428), will be running at the the speed of 130 kmph.
The CPRO of North Central Railway, stated that this milestone has been achieved by them due to good maintenance of property and operational discipline of track, rolling stock, signaling and other electrical assets. This venture is bound to save time for passengers and is also a budget friendly option, when compared to travelling by road or air.
