Rasam in Kanpur's Rave 3 is where you can satiate your South Indian cravings!

None

South Indian is by far one of the simplest, yet one of the most delicious cuisines out there. We all know and adore the mainstream staples including idlis, dosas, sambaar, vada and coconut chutney, completely ignoring the fact that South Indian food is about so much more than the simple masala dosas.

If you've been wanting to explore more of the Southern Indian cuisines in Kanpur, there's no better place than Rasam in Rave 3, Tilak Nagar.

What the vibe says

With colourful walls, traditional furniture and an ethnic feel to it, Rasam is a vibrant and lively place. The colourful wall murals especially add a touch of life to the restaurant and make every meal a tad bit more cheerful. The comfortable and lively vibe here, makes the place perfect for family dinners, great to catch up with friends and also a wonderful fine dine choice for the lovers of South Indian food and thalis.

Food for the soul

The food here at Rasam is some of the best South Indian we've had in the city. From crispy stuffed dosas, light fluffy idlis to beautifully made poriyal, payasam and tamarind rice, the options are endless.

They get brownie points for serving every single meal with a side of coconut chutney, tamarind-tomato chutney, ghee and a ton of other accompaniments. Which does wonders to the taste and the flavour of anything we're having.

We especially love the thalis they serve here, the Andra thali comes with sambaar, pepper rasam, gunpowder with desi ghee, cabbage poriyal, bhindi ki sabzi, bharta, palak chane ki dal, red chilli achaar, corn salad, papad, poori, tamarind rice, steamed rice, paysum, suji halwa, south Indian mattha and banana.

Though, a little different from the usual grub that is served here, people also love the Rajasthani and the Gujarati thalis at Rasam. The gatte ki sabzi is the best you'll find in the city.

Rasam is the place to be at if you're a South Indian fan, enjoy the finer things in life and would like to enjoy something other than the basic idlis and dosas. We highly recommend getting the thalis here, the wadas are pretty great too. So gather your family/friends and get ready to nosh on the best of South Indian, Kanpur has to offer.
