With connectivity across the major ends of the city, the Lucknow Metro is changing the game when it comes to public transport in the city. It has heralded an era of safer and more convenient travels across the city. Now, this has been Internationally recognised and Lucknow Metro is all set to receive the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Award for safety in project execution, which is a major achievement.
As Lucknowites, we are very proud of this huge feat considering how new Lucknow Metro is and how quickly it has gained recognition in the International forum. Apart from that, this award also gives Lucknow Metro an edge over Delhi Metro and other such intra city rail transport systems.
The award itself will be presented to Lucknow Metro. RoSPA is a British charity organization that often awards project planners and executioners. Solely, the focus on the aspect of safety as far as project execution is concerned. What this means is that they keep a track of activities taking place during construction of infrastructure and then, according to the level of safety measures taken by the planners, they present the projects with awards.
The fact that this award for ensuring safety during construction comes as a feather in Lucknow’s cap and makes all the dug up roads worthwhile. The award is a recognition of Lucknow Metro’s thorough practices and will be presented at a ceremony on 12th September, 2019.
What’s even better is that the Lucknow Metro is the first such metro rail system to win this award. Earlier, several oil as well as gas agencies from India have been presented with this award, but never a metro system. Additionally, the LMRC was also praised to the feat of accomplishing their task before the deadline.
