For the first time, Lucknow will host the biennial defence expo in 2020. The event is prestigious in itself and it will be Lucknow’s singular privilege to host it in 2020. For the uninitiated, Defence expo is a place where Lucknowites can get a treat of the kind they’ve rarely seen before. Every possible new weapon, military technology is on display here and is something that shouldn’t be missed. In fact, the exhibition draws not only manufacturers and sellers, but people from all around the globe.

In Lucknow, the theme of the expo will be largely based around “India: The emerging defence manufacturing hub”. Since the expo is a great opportunity for small and large manufacturers from around the world to showcase their latest innovations, it reinforces the theme of the event.

Furthermore, the event specifically focuses on “Digital transformation of defence” and how technology is creeping in on every aspect of our existence.

To give a little more background, defence expo is a one of a kind event where visitors can get a chance to witness the latest technology in military matters. From arms and ammunition to the latest intelligence devices, the defence expo showcases it all. In fact, you could even catch a live demonstration of these technologies- which usually tend to draw a lot of attention.

Apart from just being a visual treat for not just Lucknowites but for people from all around the country, the commercial mega event will also provide huge opportunities for the tourist industry in the city. Since people will come from far and wide to witness this spectacle, they’re bound to stay in the city for a couple of days.

At any rate, the defence expo is surely a great place for arms enthusiasts and especially prospective aspirants for the defence services. The fact that this mega event will take place in our own city is another feather in Lucknow’s cap.
