1 bike, 127 challans! Lucknow Police lists top 10 repeat traffic offenders
Lucknow's traffic woes continue as reckless bikers ignore rules despite red signals and e-challans. The traffic police have identified the city's worst offenders, 10 bikes with shockingly high challans, for violations like signal-jumping, speeding, and riding helmetless.
The most notorious rider, whose bike (UP 32 HC 1772) has accumulated 127 challans, leads the list. Four others crossed 100+ violations, while the 10th on the list has 85 unpaid challans. Despite ongoing efforts to improve traffic, including red signals at intersections, many riders continue to flout the rules.
RTO to take strong action against traffic offenders
In response, the RTO Department plans to take severe actions, including cancelling the driving licenses and vehicle registrations of offenders who fail to pay their fines. With such alarming figures, the authorities are also considering vehicle seizures and special drives in high-risk zones. Public awareness campaigns are being planned to deter reckless driving and promote road safety.
