Accelerated by the second wave of the pandemic, the infections spiked up alarmingly and the deaths soared high subsequently. As per the official records, 562 individuals have succumbed to the deadly virus ever since the start of May. Now, with the dropping count of new detections, it can be expected that the deaths would lower down simultaneously. However, the hospitals are still flooded with a significant number of serious or critical patients and doctors attribute long period of symptoms as the reason behind this.

High recovery rate, the only respite!

As the city struggled through the unsettling repercussions of the second wave, the high rate of recoveries became the only sign of hope. In the past few weeks since the start of May, 68,951 individuals have recovered in the city and it can be anticipated that more patients will win their fight against COVID in the days to come.

In view of the uncertain circumstances, all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow stand clamped under an ongoing lockdown, which is expected to relax on May 31. Further, the state authorities have requested all citizens to ensure strict adherence to all guidelines and protocols, supporting the battle against contagion.
