37th IATO Annual Convention returns to Lucknow after 26 years

The Uttar Pradesh government will host the 37th Indian Association of Tour Operators' (IATO) convention in Lucknow in December.

After a gap of 26 years, the Uttar Pradesh government will host the 37th Indian Association of Tour Operators' (IATO) convention in Lucknow in December. Ever since the last summit, Uttar Pradesh has gone through some major developments in the tourism and hospitality sector. 

The event will put Uttar Pradesh under the international eye, and UP will get a chance to showcase its achievements in the tourism sector, along with recently developed sites of historical and religious importance.

IATO Convention will boost the tourism sector of Uttar Pradesh 

Uttar Pradesh will host the 37th IATO Annual Convention after almost 26 years. This is an excellent opportunity for the state to showcase it‘s revamped heritage sites and developed infrastructure. Since 1996, many significant places have come up in the state like Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, the larger-than-life Kashi Vishwanath corridor connection the Mandir with Lalita Ghats, Heritage walk in Lucknow and Prayagraj (Allahabad).

Cities like Lucknow and Kanpur now have a grand metro system for tourist and locals. Offering better road connectivity, UP also has a 424 KMs long, Yamuna Expressway bridging Noida to Agra. 

Over 900 delegates from across India are expected to attend the three-day programme and witness the developments in Uttar Pradesh.

What's the role of The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) 

The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) is the national apex body for tourism in India. IATO interacts closely with the government on all pressing issues affecting the tourism industry in India. It acts as a medium between the government and the industry operators, and presents the perspective to both sides, synergising their common agenda of tourism facilitation. 

It covers all segments of the tourism industry like hotels, airlines, government tourism departments, transport operators and both national and international tour operators. They also have close connections with other tourism associations in US, Nepal and Indonesia.

The convention will not only act as a stage for Uttar Pradesh for to highlight its various accomplishments in the past years, to an international audience but also help entrance the future audience to its many accolades.
