Colvin Taluqdar’s was established in 1889, back when India was still under the grasps of the British and education was not a pre-requisite for a person but a novelty. When the school was established, it was quite clear that the fore fathers meant only to teach the sons of British Administrators and Aristocrats. It was believed that only the males from noble or uber rich families could act a certain way, be civilized and/or have the pedigree to be able to cope with a proper education.

The huge campus spreads over 60 acres

Located at university road Lucknow, the sprawling campus of Colvin Taluqdars is spread over 60 acres of land and is built along the banks of river Gomti. It is one of the biggest schools in Lucknow and has a pupil count of over 1400. The school runs in both UP as well as ICSE/ISC boards. The school also has a hostel facility.

It was established by Sir Auckland Colvin, a British Empire administrator in India

Sir Auckland Colvin is said to be born in an “illustrious Anglo-Indian Colvin family”, as the Lieutenant-governor of the North-West Provinces and Oudh, he founded Colvin Taluqdar’s College in Lucknow which developed to be a famous elitist college.
