Lucknow bears the maximum impact of COVID-19 in UP
Lucknow hosts the maximum share of the state’s coronavirus caseload. With 5 fatalities on Monday, Lucknow’s death count reached 1,087. Though the fatality ratio has been restricted at around 1.3% in the city, reports have revealed that in the last 24 hours, every third death in Uttar Pradesh, due to the coronavirus, was in Lucknow. During this period, every fifth case in the state was also identified here.
With the festive season ahead, these statistics spell danger for the city dwellers who are requested to exercise maximum caution to prevent the contraction of the coronavirus. The state is also under high alert given the outbreak of the new, highly transmissible mutated strain of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom.
