After an overwhelming response, Raahgiri to be organized in Lucknow again on Nov 25

The first Raahgiri event, a citizen initiative backed by the LDA, that took place on November 11 received an overwhelming response. To celebrate the success of the event, LDA will now be hosting the second leg of the event on November 25. This time, the event is being planned on a bigger scale and will also be graced by the Uttar Pradesh Cycling Association.

The aim of the event is to keep prime city roads free of traffic in order to enable citizens to enjoy fun and healthy activities on the wide open roads. This time, officials are encouraging school students, working class people and persons in all walks of life to participate in the event. Raahgiri will be organized at the busy 1090 crossing in Gomti Nagar. It will be filled with fun packed events such as painting and drawing competitions for school students, cycling stunts - which are the highlight of the show, skating, yoga, street plays, walkathon and many more.

In addition to the events, the LDA will also be organizing an informative rally about the benefits of these activities as well as safety measures to be taken into consideration. Apart from that, the authorities will also use this as a way to engage and encourage students to actively take part in such activities and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Despite limited publicity, the first Raahgiri event was a huge success. The LDA hopes that the event will take off well as they have booked a professional cyclist troupe who will leave you dazzled with their stunts. If the event fares well with the citizens, it will become a monthly event held on the second and last Sunday of every month from 6:30 AM for a period of 3 hours.
