After overnight rains, Lucknow braces for a humid and sunny Friday!
Lucknow woke up to cloudy skies on Friday, setting the stage for a day of mixed sunshine and shade. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 33°C, with a minimum of 27°C. While short, heavy rain and storms were seen in many areas till late Thursday night, the Regional Meteorological Centre indicates this activity is now waning.
Sunshine and humidity take over for the next week
Senior scientist Atul Kumar Singh states the monsoon is weakening across Uttar Pradesh, shifting its focus towards Central India. While southern UP may still see isolated showers, the intensity of rain is likely to decrease significantly for the next 5 days. Consequently, Lucknow and most other districts are set for a return of humid and hot conditions, with humidity levels reaching 70-90%.
Statewide, western UP has recorded 24% above-average rainfall this monsoon, while the east has seen an 11% deficit. Despite the current decrease in rain, major rivers like the Ganga and Yamuna continue to flow above danger levels, causing disruptions in flood-prone, low-lying areas. For now, residents should prepare for sunshine punctuated by high humidity.
