After rising temperatures, Lucknow likely to receive rainfall from April 18-20; details
After a brief respite, Lucknow residents are once again facing rising temperatures, as the mercury climbed noticeably on Tuesday. The capital recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3°C, up by 1.2 degrees, while night temperatures jumped significantly by 3.4 degrees to reach 23.4°C.
According to Atul Kumar Singh, Senior Scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre Lucknow, this warming trend will continue for the next three days. However, relief is on the horizon as a new western disturbance and easterly winds are expected to bring cloud cover and possible drizzle between April 18-20.
Looking further, Uttar Pradesh may see a strong monsoon this year, with forecasts suggesting 105% of average rainfall (except in Bundelkhand). Reduced Eurasian snow cover and neutral El Niño conditions could contribute to a wetter season. For now, Lucknow can expect a mix of heat and fleeting April showers.
