The work to form an Anti-Narcotics Task Form in UP is currently underway. This task force will keep a check on increasing drug trafficking and illegal sale of liquor in the state. Reportedly, the ANTF has been assigned to pay special attention to the illegal trade of synthetic and psychotropic drugs on the dark web too.

As per the officials, a roadmap towards eradicating the illegal trade of drugs via the dark web has already been put in motion. The trading of psychotropic and synthetic drugs has been going on through the dark web, social media and cryptocurrency, for long time. The ANTF will target these channels with the aim to eliminate the entire nexus of drug trafficking in the state.

Notably, the team will have IT specialists that will maintain the technological design and network, enabling secure information and data sharing. Cyber experts will ensure cybersecurity and software developers will aim at developing software with advanced firewalls and hack-proof systems.

As of now, the task force has been sent to New Delhi for technical training in coordination with the Narcotics Control Bureau. Once the training is completed, the ANTF will kick off an awareness campaign to educate youth about the harms of exposing themselves to drugs.
