At 40.4°C, Lucknow witnessed the hottest day of this season on Tuesday; heatwave likely to continue!

Dear Lucknowites, brace yourself for the scorching hot days ahead as the heat wave and dusty storms are expected to continue till March 31!

On Tuesday, the mercury level soared as high as 40.4°C in Lucknow, marking the hottest day of the season so far! While the intensity of heat is rising each day, the capital city noted a 5.4°C rise than the usual temperature on March 29. The meteorological department has warned the city folks about the heatwave that is likely to continue in the city and the neighbouring areas till March 31. While the lowest temperature recorded in Lucknow was 19.4°C for the first time in this season, the temperature has crossed the 40°-mark in the city yesterday. According to the forecast, apart from the heatwave, dust storm will also take over the entire state till March 31. In addition to this, Lucknow's daily temperature is expected to balance out between 41°C-19°C till the end of this month, predicted the meT department.

As per the forecast, the maximum temperature every day will remain somewhere around 40°C for the next five days. Make sure you stay hydrated and do not forget to carry an umbrella while stepping out of your house.

The persistent heatwave will not only drain humans but is also likely to affect animals as well. Reportedly, the Lucknow Zoo authority has added various provisions for the zoo inmates to protect animals from extreme heatstrokes. You can also do your bit by putting out small water pots for birds and animals to ensure no one remains thirsty in this scorching heat.
