With a newfound enthusiasm for sports and fitness, Lucknow is experiencing a fresh wave of athletic energy. From youth-led running clubs and community sports groups to middle-aged residents embracing recreational games like pickleball and paddle tennis, the city is adopting an active lifestyle like never before.

To further strengthen this growing sporting culture and nurture the next generation of athletes, Athrise — an integrated sports ecosystem brand organised a first-of-its-kind event titled CoachCraft 25 last week, dedicated to celebrating the pivotal role of school and academy coaches.

The gathering, held at Savvy Grand in Gomti Nagar, brought together over 100 sports coaches representing more than 50 leading schools and academies across Lucknow, marking a major step toward recognising grassroots sports leadership in the city.

Coaches lead the conversation on grassroots sports

The evening featured panel discussions, open-house interactions, and engaging activities that encouraged coaches to exchange ideas on grassroots sports development, athlete well-being, and the evolving role of coaching in schools.

Nikhil Kumar, Founder and CEO of Athrise, shared the brand’s vision and roadmap, highlighting its mission to support schools and coaches in creating structured, sustainable pathways that guide young talent from school-level participation to professional sport.

Jose Leon, former executive at Dentsu and Adobe and now an Advisor at Athrise, underscored the importance of integrating fitness into early education. He spoke about the essential role schools and coaches play in shaping young athletes’ mindsets toward fitness and noted the increasing sponsorship and branding opportunities for athletes across all levels in India.

Yogesh Shetty, a renowned expert in sports injury rehabilitation and physiotherapy, led an insightful session on athlete well-being, mental conditioning, and holistic performance.
