For this purpose, 1,000 ETM machines will be purchased, in order to provide resources to carry out cashless transactions.
Stepping forward towards the goal of a cashless economy, the transport officials in Lucknow have now come up with an inventive scheme to facilitate cash-free transactions. Once this initiative is executed, the passengers travelling in buses will be able to use their ATM cards, other debit or credit cards for paying their fares. For this purpose, 1,000 ETM machines will be purchased and they will be used for facilitating cashless transactions.
Scheme expected to be rolled out after 3 months
Currently, the commuters have to pay the amount in cash and it sometimes leads to a hassle. With the introduction of the new service, the entire process will be hastened and streamlined. It is expected that the complete implementation of the scheme will take nearly 3 months.
