'Chhoona Hai Aasman' Book: Kanti Singh's story of resilience launched in Lucknow
A stirring tribute to perseverance unfolded in Lucknow on June 9 when former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched 'Chhoona Hai Aasman', the inspirational biography of educator and former legislator Ms. Kanti Singh. Penned by acclaimed author Renu Saini, the book captures Singh’s remarkable journey of resilience, empowerment, and social transformation.
"A manifesto for ambitious women..."
The book launch ceremony turned into a celebration of human potential, with Akhilesh Yadav emphasising how the biography's title - 'Chhoona Hai Aasmaan', encapsulates the relentless spirit that defines both Singh's journey and the aspirational energy of modern India. The former CM's poignant remarks highlighted how Singh's story exemplifies education's power to uplift rather than exploit, to empower rather than diminish.
Dr. S.P. Singh, MP and founder of Lucknow Public Schools, called the book “a manifesto for ambitious women”, while an emotional Kanti Singh credited her achievements to his mentorship: “This story is his legacy.”
The launch, attended by politicians, educators, and literati like Rajendra Chaudhary (ex-SP Minister) and Rakhi Saini (reviewer), transitioned into a lively panel discussion. Author Renu Saini revealed how writing the biography uncovered Singh’s “quiet revolutions in education and gender advocacy.”
Biography launch leaves lasting mark
As the evening drew to a close, LPCPS Director Garima Singh’s heartfelt vote of thanks did more than conclude the event, it crystallised its essence. The air hummed with unspoken resolve, the kind that follows when ordinary stories reveal extraordinary truths. It was a meaningful tribute to a woman whose life will encourage many to dream bigger and aim higher.
