UP's Abhyudaya Scheme to provide free coaching to competitive exams takers; registrations now open!

Students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, UPPSC, JEE, NEET, NDA, CDS, Bank PO, TET, SSC can avail free-of-cost coaching.

The Mukkhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojna will help all UP competitive examination aspirants to soar to great heights. People can seek expert counsel and guidance through free of cost, state-run-coaching under the ambit of the new scheme. Online registrations have begun and classes for the same will begin from February 16, in both online and offline format.

The Lucknow Divisional Commissioner informed students preparing for any competitive exam like UPSC, UPPSC, JEE, NEET, NDA, CDS, Bank PO, TET, SSC can avail the new scheme and free-of-cost coaching. The only pre-requisite to enrol in these classes is the online registration; the portal is now live and is accepting entries and admissions. Interested candidates can log onto the government website of Abhyuday and get themselves registered now.

During registration, the candidate needs to fill out basic information such as name, age, mobile number, email-id and contact information. Soon after this, links to the virtual classroom and academic calendar will be shared with the student. Classes will be scheduled every day, in morning and evening. Keeping the pandemic situation in sight, only a few students will be allowed to attend physical-offline classes while the rest can join digital sessions. The online classes will be archived for future reference and revision.

From study material to feedback, Abhyudaya Scheme to cover it all

In Lucknow, offline classes will be conducted at Lucknow University and IT Colleges, in two batches; one each, in morning and evening. Besides providing expert counsel to students at zero-cost, this scheme will open an archway for all such candidates that are deprived of proper guidance due to economic restraints. The CM's Abhyudaya Scheme will level the playing field for each and all, by providing study material, arranging for guest lectures, motivational speakers and collecting feedback.

A two-way dialogue will be encouraged and both, teachers and students will be able to send in their feedback. This exercise will further develop the learning environment, bettering retention. This new scheme will be managed by a senior official of Principal Secretary, with the assistance of a 6 member team from the social welfare department. District functions will further be lying under the authority of the Divisional Commissioner. officiating a 12 member committee.

Flipkart Marketplace to facilitate contactless grocery shopping in Jaipur

On Tuesday, e-commerce platform Flipkart announced that it will expand its grocery services to about 50 cities via the establishment of a 'Marketplace'. Auto-rickshaw & taxi rides get costlier in Mumbai

Commuters in Mumbai will now have to pay a minimum fare of ₹21 & ₹25 for all CNG-run auto-rickshaws and taxis, respectively.

The base fare of all CNG-run public commute vehicles, taxis and autorickshaws has witnessed a hike of ₹3 in Mumbai. The decision was finalised in a meeting of the MMRTA last week, chaired by the State Transport Secretary. Effective from Monday, March 1, the minimum rate of travel has been hiked after 6 years in Mumbai and was long overdue, commented the State Transport Minister. Previously, a hike in the base fare was implemented on June 1, 2015.

Mumbai's Central Railway Authority has raised the cost of platform tickets to ₹50, in a bid to avoid overcrowding in the premises. The change will be applicable only at the key stations of the suburban train network, that witness heavy footfalls daily. As per reports, the heightened prices have been in effect since February 24 in view of the unprecedented spike in cases, soon after the resumption of local train services for all. The prices shall remain in force until June 15, this year.
