Lucknow city has borne the maximum impact of the coronavirus spread across all districts in Uttar Pradesh, shouldering about 13.4% of the state’s total infection tally. Clocking 134 new infections, the state capital has yet again contributed the largest share to the state’s daily statistics, cementing its place as a coronavirus hot spot in Uttar Pradesh. Recorded data and reports have revealed that Lucknow has reported a total of 79,056 coronavirus cases since its outbreak which is way over double the tally of the second most-hit district, Kanpur Nagar.
Lucknow’s COVID-19 update
In relative terms, the coronavirus tallies in the state have been arrested to smaller figures, with daily recovery count surging over the new infections. Growing at a rate of 0.2% in the city, the doubling rate of hosts in Lucknow have been extended over a period of about 122 days. With this, the city has managed to improve its recovery rate up to 95.3%. On Sunday also, 208 recoveries outpaced the number of new coronavirus cases, boosting the city total to 79,056 cases. This tally, too, has been pitched as the highest number of recoveries made, among all districts in Uttar Pradesh.
Besides this, Lucknow is preparing for a glitch-free vaccination drive, which in all probability, will roll out by January mid. As per the directives of the Centres, Lucknow conducted a dry run on Saturday to test the feasibility of the state established transport and distribution of the vaccine vials, along with the immunisation process in the city. This mock drive was monitored on the state level, and the results were shared across all districts, in an attempt to overcome any loopholes and glitches.
The state authorities have also decided to initiate the Aarogya Mela in Uttar Pradesh, which was earlier suspended over the fears of the raging coronavirus pandemic. As already reported by Knocksense, this Aarogya Mela will be held as a weekly affair, every Sunday, to provide better medical facilities to the people amid the rampant spread of the coronavirus disease.
