Dhoni and Kohli not to play at Ekana Stadium; Fans dismayed

In a recent development, skipper Virat Kohli and wicket keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not play the international T-20 match against West Indies in Lucknow. The development comes after the BCCI’s decision to drop former captain Dhoni for the first time in T-20 format, and Virat Kohli, current captain, has been ‘rested’ from the three match T-20 series.

Fans of the sporting giants are disappointed and have mentioned that the duo played a major role in their decision to buy tickets to the city’s debut T-20 international match. A few of them even went so far as to say that had they known of this development, they would not have purchased tickets. Fans were eager to see the two sport stars play live and were looking forward to seeing some of their signature moves. One fan in particular, bought tickets solely to witness MS Dhoni’s famous helicopter shot and Virat Kohli’s intelligent plays.

Though fans will miss the two powerhouses, the stadium will be abuzz with activity and jam packed with cricket fanatics from around the city and neighbouring areas. The charm of Ekana Stadium’s debut international T-20 will not be lost as fans are eager to see the Indian team dominate West Indies.
