Fight against Covid-19: Streets in Lucknow wear a deserted look during the self-imposed curfew!

Amid concerns of community spread of Covid-19, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh announced lockdown in 15 cities, including Lucknow on Sunday.


Fight against Corona reaches its third week. While the people were spontaneous in applauding the men and women involved in essential services, there was an underlying fear of lockdown and curfew. The administration, however, is strictly monitoring the situation and has essential services to remain operational.

Announcing lockdown till 25th March, the officials made clear that railways and metro services, bus services and UP state transportation will be restricted. People coming from other states are also being quarantined.

Amid concerns of the peaking numbers of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to seal hotspots in 15 major districts, including 12 hotspots in Lucknow.

This decision was undertaken at a meeting in Lucknow on Wednesday. The authorities have also given a verdict pertaining to the complete sealing of 12 major areas in Lucknow till15th of April.
