G20 summit, UP-GIS events spur new budget for better roads and sanitation in Lucknow
With G20 Summit and UP Global Investors Summit just around the corner, authorities in Lucknow are working in full swing to complete the sanitation and beautification work.
Reportedly, Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) recieved a sum of ₹40 crores which is being utilised for the development work.
Which areas of Lucknow will receive a makeover?

From covering drains to repairing and repairing prominent roadways in the city, here's the complete list of tasks which are underway and the amount which has been allocated for their completion:
Redevelopment of the patch of Shaheed Path between the State Consumer Redressal Commission Office and Apna Bazar - ₹1.34 crore
Reconstruction and covering of drains in the Arjunganj area near Shaheed Path underpass - ₹1.19 crore
Redevelopment of Shaheed Path service lanes running between Vineet Khand 6 to Jeevan Plaza via Azaad Chowk - ₹1.25 crore
Covering of drains in the Vibhuti Khand area of Gomti Nagar - ₹13.44 lakh
Covering of drains near Red Cross hospital of the Vishesh Khand area - ₹17.64 lakh
Covering of drains between Indira Gandhi Pratishthaan and Shaheed Path - ₹39.50 lakh
Task including divider repainting, improvement of green belt and beautification on the pathway between Jeevan Plaza to Kapoori Thakur intersection of Viram Khand area in Gomti Nagar - ₹29.42 lakh
Footpath reconstruction between Amausi airport and Transport Nagar Metro station - ₹22.10 lakh
Road reconstruction from Geeta Vastralay to the Indian Oil office and Lakshman Auto Care to CMS in the Aliganj area - ₹90.26 lakh
Road reconstruction between Burma Biscuit Co. and Chadanganj Primary School in Aliganj - ₹58.96 lakh
With this, a sum of ₹35.50 crores has also been allocated for the undergrounding of telecom and power lines in all the aforementioned areas.
