Ganeshotsav 2025, Lucknow: 10-day traffic diversions, starting Aug 27
With the ten-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival beginning on Wednesday, the Lucknow Traffic Police have rolled out a major traffic plan to manage the festive rush and large gatherings. From 10 AM on August 27 till September 5, several key routes in the city will see diversions and restrictions. The new arrangements are aimed at ensuring smoother traffic flow and minimising congestion during Ganeshotsav.

Ayodhya Road & Gomti Nagar → Kaiserbagh:
Roadways and city buses will not take the direct route. Instead, they must go via Kamta Tiraha – Vijaypur Underpass – Indira Gandhi Pratishthan – Lohia Square – Samtamulk Square – Gandhi Setu (1090) – PNT Sand Adda – Sankalp Vatika Square – Chiraiyajheel – Clark Avadh Square – CDRI Square – Kaiserbagh Bus Stand.Sitapur Road → Kaiserbagh:
Vehicles coming from Sitapur Road will move through Madiyanv – Puraniya/Daliganj Crossing – Pakka Pul – Shahmina Tiraha – Daliganj Pul – CDRI Tiraha – Kaiserbagh.
For return, vehicles must use Balrampur Dhal – Shaheed Smarak – CDRI – Daliganj routes.Chowk & Daliganj Bridge:
Vehicles will not be allowed to go directly towards Subhash Chauraha. Instead, they must take the route via Kalka Adda Tiraha – Vishwadeep Tiraha.Telephone Exchange Square:
Movement towards Maqbara Road will remain blocked. Vehicles will be diverted via Karbala Bus Stand – Siddharth Nagar Tiraha – Kalka Adda Tiraha.Niralanagar & University Road:
Direct access from Niralanagar/University Road to Subhash Chauraha will be closed. Commuters should use IT intersection routes to reach their destination.
Lucknow Traffic Police have urged commuters to use alternative routes, leave early, and follow traffic rules to avoid jams during the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. In case of emergencies, dial 9454405155.
