Good news for travellers: Lucknow Mail just got more accessible, will now depart from Lucknow Jn

Lucknow Mail, which originates from Charbagh Railway station, just got a new point of origin. The move is a step towards making one of the most sought after trains between Delhi and Lucknow more accessible to travelers. Lucknow Mail will originate from the Lucknow Junction (LKO JN) station starting November 15.

Apart from Lucknow mail, 18 other express trains have been given the signal to depart from the Lucknow Junction railway station. The main reason behind the change is that authorities wish to decongest Charbagh railway station in order to preserve the elegance of the place and to bring a hassle free travel experience to commuters. In addition, this could also be a move towards the redevelopment process of Charbagh.

Lucknow Mail is a train with about 24 coaches on an average and authorities have noted that the Lucknow Junction platforms 2 and 3 will need to be extended a bit to accommodate the length of the train. In addition, it would also mean that travellers would have to walk along the platforms for a longer period of time to get to their coaches. The departure times of the trains will also change from November 15 and then change again from December 1.

To make things more convenient for the general public, authorities will ensure that the trains pass through other railway stations within the city such as Aishbagh and others. The move is one that will greatly benefit the public as it will lessen the crowd at Charbagh and make the station more streamlined than before.
