After last week’s heavy downpours that briefly cooled conditions, rainfall across Uttar Pradesh has decreased. The pleasant spell has given way to hot and humid weather, with no heavy rainfall forecast until 20 August. While most parts of the state face no weather warnings today, the IMD has issued an Orange Alert for Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Baghpat. Western UP has been advised to remain cautious, but no alerts have been issued for Lucknow and Kanpur.

Heavy rainfall expected after August 20

IMD has predicted a change from August 21, with isolated heavy showers likely in eastern UP. On August 22, heavy rainfall is expected across both eastern and western regions, accompanied by thunderstorms and widespread showers.

Meanwhile, day temperatures remain high across the state. Kanpur Rural recorded the highest at 36.4°C, while Lucknow reported 35.5°C (maximum) and 27.7°C (minimum). Minimum temperatures across most districts were between 24°C and 28°C, adding to the sultry conditions.
